Cartwright Park

Park Hours: 6 a.m.-12 a.m.

Cartwright Park is the largest park in the City of Weatherford in terms of acreage, with the main feature of the park being Sunshine Lake. The entirety of Cartwright Park
encompasses 150 acres.


 dock.jpg Sunshine Lake is a 30 acre lake that is great for local anglers.  The lake comes complete with a fishing dock and boat ramp, however commercial-power motors rating in excess of five horsepower or more are prohibited on the water at Sunshine Lake. 
Cartwright Park is the home of the Weatherford Soccer Association.  When in season, 11 irrigated field are available for league play.  For more information on the Weatherford Soccer Association please visit the Soccer Association website.  soccer.jpg
 grill.jpg Cartwright Park is a great location to have a family picnic and enjoy the natural beauty of North Texas. The park has 30 picnic tables and 11 charcoal grills scattered
throughout for your enjoyment!
Cartwright Park has a pavilion and a lighted softball field available for your use on a first come, first serve basis.  However, like all other Parks and Recreation pavilions and ball fields, rentals take priority.  For reservations on either,

 heron.jpg Cartwright Park is a fantastic location to witness the local wildlife.  Bring the kids and a bag of bread down to feed the resident ducks and geese!  Other wildlife frequently on display include: turkey, whitetail deer, fox, armadillos, and coyotes. 
Cartwright Park also features many open spaces and all purpose fields, as well as a fenced in playground.
